Basic Troubleshooting[edit]
The Lights Won't Come On[edit]
The Buttons on the wall plates are not lit up[edit]
Check the power to the wall plate control near the sound board. It has likely come unplugged.
The Buttons on the wall plates are purple[edit]
This means the wall plates are being bypassed by someone controlling the lights using a more advanced lighting system. If there is someone there controlling lights, talk to them. If no one is there, make sure that there is no cord from the control station by the sound board plugged into a computer or lighting console.
Lights Are Flashing[edit]
House Lights are flashing, stage lights are not[edit]
This is generally an issue with the dimmer system. This is in the closet, with 6 plugs into the dimmer. If the issue is only one of the house light circuits, try unplugging it and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, try powering the dimmer pack itself on and off with the switches at the bottom. If that doesn't fix it, try unplugging the control box by the lighting board. If it still doesn't work, it's not likely something you can fix without calling someone.
Stage Lights are Flashing[edit]
This is usually due to a glitch in the wireless dmx control. In the closet, turn on and off the following breakers, which are listed for lighting gear only.
- 15 & 17
- 14 & 16
Once it all comes back on, this SHOULD resolve it.
If it does not resolve it, go to the dimmer pack in the closet. Unplug and plug back in the antenna below the dimmer rack. This will reset the transmitter to the stage lights.
If it is still not resolved, call the person who knows lighting the best.
